1. Care Instructions for Split-Type
Air-Conditioners

Air filters of indoor air-conditioning unit
At least, once a week or even more often, if required, wash air filters installed in the indoor air-conditioning unit (please, refer to User Manual). Protective properties of the filters are based on electrostatic effect and therefore even if contaminated little the air-conditioner filter doesn’t function in a proper way.
Cleaning of heat exchanger of outdoor air-conditioning unit
Clean the heat exchanger of the indoor unit, at least, once a year. For this purpose you should:
- open the front diffuser
- remove air filters
- clean ribs of the heat-exchanger carefully using a vacuum-cleaner or a long-piled brush (be careful not to crumple the ribs as crumbled ribs decrease operation efficiency of the air-conditioner). Be careful not to injure your hands with sharp edges of the ribs.
Preparation to summer season
The outdoor unit heat exchanger should be cleaned and all operation modes of your air-conditioner tested once a year (it’s better to do it in spring). That ensures failure-free operation of your air-conditioner. Please, contact the authorized service to carry out the above cleaning and testing.
Operation of air-conditioner in winter
Please, take into account that operation of your air-conditioner in winter is subject to some peculiarities.
- First of all, in extremely low temperatures (-10°Ñ and below for "LG", "General
Electric", "Panasonic", "Sharp",
air-conditioners and -15°Ñ and below for "Carrier"
air-conditioners) you should use your air-conditioner in ventilation mode only. Operation of your air-conditioner in cooling or heating mode can result in severe damage of the compressor.
- Second, if outdoor temperature is minus and condensate (water from the indoor unit) is discharged to outside, a drain pipe may freeze and having no way to go, water will be discharged from the indoor air-conditioning unit.
2. Care Instructions for Window Air-Conditioners
Air filters of window air-conditioner
At least, once a week or even more often, if required, wash the air filter of the air-conditioner (please, refer to User Manual). Protective properties of the filter are based on electrostatic effect and therefore even if contaminated little the air-conditioner filter doesn’t function in a proper way.
Cleaning of indoor heat exchanger of window air-conditioner
Clean the indoor heat exchanger of the air-conditioner, at least, once a year. For this purpose you should:
- open the front diffuser

- clean ribs of the heat-exchanger carefully using a vacuum-cleaner or a long-piled brush (be careful not to crumple the ribs as crumbled ribs decrease operation efficiency of the air-conditioner). Be careful not to injure your hands with sharp edges of the ribs.
Please, take into account that operation of your air-conditioner in winter is subject to some peculiarities.
- First of all, in extremely low temperatures (-10 Ñ and below) you should use your window air-conditioner in ventilation mode only. Operation of your air-conditioner in cooling or heating mode can result in severe damage of the compressor. It’s not the point for air-conditioners manufactures by "White Westinghouse" Company as heating is provided by electric thermal cells and therefore while heating they do not depend on environment.
- Second, the air-conditioner can operate normally in cooling mode if outdoor temperature is not below 16-19 Ñ. If the temperature is lower, the air-conditioner shouldn’t be used in cooling mode as it may be damaged.
- Third, if outdoor temperature is minus, condensate (water) may freeze or snow may get into the air-conditioner’s enclosure. At that, fan blades hit against ice frozen on and that may derange the air-conditioner and the fan may break.
